How Andy Dufresne copes with the Prison environment and find new ways of amusement as in listening to opera, setting up of huge library and teaching fellow prison members. Of course his journey is not a smooth one. A major difference in physique of Andy is depicted in the movie from the novella,where Tim Robbins is Tall and strapping, Andy in the book is average height and of weak physique which makes him prone to attack of sodomites and how he fights them back. Both book and movie make us realize the price of freedom, hope and endless patience and perseverance. Andy picks up a curious habit which he used to pursue when he was free in his home which helps him a lot as we move through. Then movie shows the usual and Cruel! Prison officers and wardens, their scheming and corruption. How Andy fights them and overwhelms them is a study and pleasure to watch or read whichever you choose.
